A phased, whole building redevelopment of The Climbing Academy's flagship Mothership centre on Barrow Road. A new glulam mezzanine reorganises how the building works, wrapping reception, cafe, shop and events space into the climbing hall, with changing rooms, offices and a lower ground gym following in later phases.
Parallel provided the architectural design, the planning application and the Building Regulations drawings across the phases. Shape Studio was principal designer and principal contractor. It also provided the project management, the construction drawings and the joinery and interior design, down to the climbing shoe storage built into the new staircase.
